RCW 46.17.135: Vehicle identification number reassignment fee.

Before accepting an application for a certificate of title, the department, county auditor or other agent, or subagent appointed by the director shall require an applicant to pay a five dollar vehicle identification number reassignment fee if the Washington state patrol has reassigned an identification number as authorized under RCW 46.12.560 . The reassignment fee must be deposited in the motor vehicle fund created in RCW 46.68.070 .
