The maximum contaminant levels for PFAS shown in table Da apply to community water systems and non-transient non-community water systems. (2) Best available treatment. (a) Best available treatment. The BATs available for achieving compliance with the MCLs for the PFAS substances listed under sub. (1) are listed in Table Db. (b) Small system compliance technologies or SSCTs. The EPA administrator identifies the affordable technology, treatment technique, or other means listed in Table Dc as available to systems serving 10,000 individuals or fewer for achieving compliance with the MCLs for all regulated PFAS identified under sub. (1) . (3) Alternative treatment. A water supplier may use an alternative treatment not listed under sub. (2) if it is demonstrated to the department, using pilot studies or other means, that the alternative treatment is sufficient to achieve compliance with the MCLs under sub. (1) .
