rn STATE OF ARKANSAS OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL JUSTICE BUILDING, LITTLE ROCK 72201 STEVE CLARK (501) 371-2007 ATTORNEY GENERAL Official Opinion No. 85-208 -November 1, 1985 Dr. William H. Townsend -" State Representative 1304 Wright Avenue Little Rock, AR 72206 Dear Doctor Townsend: Under date of September 25, 1985 you have written to ask, on behalf of a constituent, whether a conflict would arise if a person who was employed part time as a teacher at a private institution also accepted a position as Director of the Adult Education Center? .In my judgment there would be no conflict of interest from the facts as they have been stated. If both positions involved the handling and expenditure of public funds whereby one position could influence the actions of the other, it is possible a conflict might occur. However, I can see no such . possibility in the case at hand. Si ly, TRY Ash tA Attorrey General JSC:ldc
