23 CAR § 466-803. Emergency repair service and telephone number

(a)(1) Each LEC shall perform emergency repair service. (2) The LEC shall take into account both the needs of the customer and the safety of personnel. (b)(1) Each LEC shall list in each directory covering any area it serves an emergency repair service number where a customer may call toll free. (2) Collect calls accepted by the LEC are considered to be toll-free calls. (3) The emergency number shall: (A) Be manned twenty-four (24) hours a day; or (B) Have a recording or answering service directing the caller to a number manned twenty-four (24) hours a day.
