27 CAR § 132-601. Purpose

(a) As stated in the MUTCD, wayfinding guide signs are part of a coordinated and continuous system of signs that direct tourists and other road users to key civic, cultural, visitor, and recreational attractions and other destinations within a city or a local urbanized or downtown area. (b) The purpose of this subpart is to establish methods, procedures, and guidelines under which a local government may adopt a wayfinding guide sign program (Wayfinding Program) to provide for local control of guide signs maintained on conventional state highways within a defined Wayfinding Region.
