27 CAR § 132-602. Application and scope of program

(a) Any county or incorporated municipality that is organized with legal authority to construct and maintain its own local roads is eligible to adopt a Wayfinding Program as provided in this subpart. (b) Adoption of a program is optional, and nothing in this subpart shall be construed to require any county or municipality to participate in or undertake a program. (c) A permitted program may apply to conventional state highways within the jurisdiction of a county or municipality, but it shall not apply to freeway or expressway main lanes or along ramps on the state highway system.
