Arizona Department of Financial Institutions SUBSTANTIVE POLICY STATEMENT Section: General Subject: Credit Reports/Arrest Records August 01, 2012 Policy Statement # GE-3 The objective of this policy statement is to advise applicants that credit reports and Federal Bureau of Investigation's reports of arrest records may be obtained to help in the Department's determination of the character/reputation of the applicant and/or its officers, directors and responsible individuals. Determining which applicants qualify as persons of good character and with financial responsibility requires a careful review of independently obtained information regarding the applicants. A credit report containing negative information or an arrest record can constitute a basis upon which to conclude that the applicant is not a person of good character. Questions regarding this policy statement should be directed to our Financial Enterprise Division at (602) 771-2800.
