Box 816 Hartford, CT 06142-0816 An Equal Opportunity Employer Bulletin IC – 45 August 4, 2021 TO: All Licensees of the Connecticut Insurance Department RE: Repeal of Bulletin IC-43 On July 12, 2021, Governor Ned Lamont signed Public Act 21-157. As a result, section 3 of Public Act 21-157, which made amendments to the provisions of Conn. Gen. Stat. § 38a-38 (the Insurance Data Security Law), became effective upon passage. As such, Bulletin IC-43, issued on February 10, 2021, which sought to provide licensees with guidance for compliance with the provisions of Conn. Gen. Stat. § 38a-38 while proposed amendments were under review in the legislative process, is no longer necessary and is hereby repealed. In addition, please note the following with regards to other Insurance Department bulletins related to insurance data security: Bulletin IC-25: Insurance Department Bulletin IC-25 dated August 18, 2010 is hereby rescinded. Bulletin MC-23: Insurance Department Bulletin MC-23 dated June 13, 2017 is rescinded effective October 1, 2021. This is to coincide with the repeal of Conn. Gen.
