(See 29 CFR § 825.201) An employee's entitlement to leave for a birth or placement for adoption or foster care expires at the end of the 12-month period beginning on the date of the birth or placement, unless the employer permits leave taken for a longer period. Any such FMLA leave shall be concluded within this one-year period.
