310 OPERATING SYSTEMS AND DESIGN ─ PREVENTING CONTAMINATION FROM MAKE-UP AIR AND EXHAUST VENTS 310.1 Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems shall be designed and installed so that make-up air intake and exhaust vents do not cause contamination of environmental surfaces single-use items, or clean and disinfected linen, or reusable implements/instruments, or equipment, as specified in §§ 202 and 203. 310.2 If the exhausted air contains dust, dirt, chemicals or other contaminants, the exhaust shall require additional treatment to prevent the contamination of the exterior air.
