1653. ADULT BASIC EDUCATION

1653 ADULT BASIC EDUCATION 1653.1 In addition to the general and professional education requirements, for certification in adult basic education, the following shall be required: (a) Eighteen (18) semester hours to include the following: (1) Psychology of the adult learner; (2) Foundations of the adult learner; (3) Development of communication skills; and (4) Six (6) semester hours in related areas; (b) Observation and student teaching at the adult or secondary level (high school) or one (1) year of satisfactory experience at the adult level.
