1654. ADULT EDUCATION (ACADEMIC SUBJECTS)

1654 ADULT EDUCATION (ACADEMIC SUBJECTS) 1654.1 In addition to the general and professional education requirements, for certification in adult education (academic subjects), the following shall be required: (a) Eighteen (18) semester hours to include the following: (1) Psychology of the adult learner; (2) Foundations of the adult learner; (3) Development of communication skills; (4) Methods and materials of adult education; and (5) Six (6) semester hours in related areas. (b) A minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a subject area; and (c) Observation and student teaching at the adult or secondary level (high school) or one (1) year of satisfactory experience at the adult level.
