The reduction shall be for any individually owned vessel used exclusively for non-commercial purposes. Voluntary attendance shall not include any attendance ordered as permitted by a Court or required by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control pursuant to any violations of Title 23. The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has informed the Insurance Department that the following courses have been approved for a boating education course discount: Delaware Safety Council U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary U.S. Power Squadrons, including the State of Delaware’s basic boating course. No minimum discount has been stated in the enabling legislation. The approved courses can be attended in Delaware or another state. At the termination of the three year discount period, boaters may take a subsequent approved course and renew the discount.
