CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES

On August 11, 1941, the National Labor Relations Board issued a
Decision and Direction of Elections in the above-entitled proceeding."'
Pursuant to the Direction, elections by secret ballot were conducted
under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the
Twentieth Region (San Francisco,' California) on September 8 and 9,
1941, among certain employees in the engine-room department of Inter-
Island Steam Navigation Company, Limited, Honolulu, Territory of
Hawaii, herein called the Company, and on September 10 and 11, 1941,
among certain employees in the stewards department of the Company.
On 'September 19, 1941, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to
Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and
Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the
parties her Elections Report.
No objections to the conduct of the
ballot or to the Elections Report have been filed by any of the parties.
As to the balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported as

By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor
Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Relations Act,
49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National
Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that The Pacific Coast Marine Firemen, Oilers,
Watertenders and Wipers Association has been designated aid selected
by a majority of the unlicensed employees in the engine-room depart-
ment of the ships of Inter-Island Steam Navigation Company, Limited,
Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, as their representative for the purposes
of collective bargaining and that pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act
The Pacific Coast Marine Firemen, Oilers, Watertenders and Wipers
Association is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the
purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages,
hours of employment, and other conditions of employment;
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Marine Cooks' and Stewards' Association
of the Pacific Coast has been designated and selected by a majority of
the employees in the stewards department of the ships of Inter-Island
Steam Navigation Company, Limited, Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii,
including second stewards, stewardesses, and chief stewards on the
smaller vessels, but excluding the chief stewards on the larger vessels,2
as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and
that pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, Marine Cooks' and Stewards'
Association of the Pacific Coast is the exclusive representative of all
such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining with respect
to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of
employment.
Mr. GERARD D. REILLY took no part in the consideration of the above
Certification of Representatives.
