20.5 - Effect of Failure to Notify CMS of a Change in Ownership (Rev. 113, Issued: 05-17-13, Effective: 05-17-13, Implementation: 05-17-13) If an MA organization fails to notify CMS of a change in ownership within the required timeframes, the original contracting entity will be liable for all capitation payments made by CMS to the original contracting entity for services following the legal change of ownership.
