10009.2 - Appropriate Resources for Directed In-Service Training Programs (Rev. 221; Issued: 05-10-24; Effective: 05-10-24; Implemetation:05-10-24) HHAs or hospice program should use programs developed by well-established centers of health education and training such as continuing education programs offered by schools of medicine, nursing, public health, community colleges, state health departments, centers for the aging, and other available area centers which have established continuing education programs for health professionals. The programs may also be conducted by consultants with background in education and training with Medicare HHA or hospice program providers, as applicable, or as deemed acceptable by CMS and/or the SA (by review of a copy of the curriculum vitas and/or resumes/references in order to determine the educator’s qualifications). The SA or CMS Location may also compile a list of resources that can provide directed in-service training and may make this list available to HHAs or hospice programs.
