4.8.4 – Escalation of Inquiries (Rev. 13821; Issued:06-09-26; Effective: 02-26-26; Implementation: 02-26-26) This section applies to UPICs and the I-MEDIC, outlining the protocol to be followed when a provider, supplier, or their authorized representative requests to speak with the UPIC or I-MEDIC management or has escalated a matter related to an investigation or administrative action through direct outreach to CMS, Congressional Offices or other external entities.
