SEC. 213. CONSIDERATION OF MARITIME ADMINISTRATION VESSELS. Before acquiring a vessel for use by the Coast Guard, the Secretary of Transportation or the Commandant of the Coast Guard, as appropriate, shall review the inventory of vessels acquired by the Secretary or the Secretary of Commerce as the result of a default under title XI of the Merchant Marine Act, 1936 (46 App. U.S.C. 1271–1279c), to determine whether any of those vessels are suitable for use by the Coast Guard.
