SEC. 214. REQUIREMENT TO REPORT SEXUAL OFFENSES. (a) In General.—Chapter 101 of title 46, United States Code is amended by: (1) deleting section 10104; and (2) adding the following new section: “§ 10104. Requirement to report sexual offenses “(a) A master or other individual in charge of a documented vessel shall report to the Secretary a complaint of a sexual offense prohibited under chapter 109A of title 18, United States Code. “(b) A master or other individual in charge of a documented vessel who knowingly fails to report in compliance with this section is liable to the United States Government for a civil penalty of not more than $5,000.”. (b) Clerical Amendment.—The analysis for chapter 101 of title 46, United States Code, is amended by striking, “10104. Regulations.” and inserting “10104. Requirement to report sexual offenses.”.
