SEC. 6142. STUDY OF REIMBURSEMENT FOR BLOOD CLOTTING FACTOR FOR HEMOPHILIA PATIENTS. The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall review the current methodology for reimbursing for blood clotting factor for hemophilia patients under part B of title XVIII of the Social Security Act and shall evaluate the effect of such methodology on the accessibility and affordability of such factor to medicare beneficiaries. By not later than 6 months after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall report to the Committees on Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Finance of the Senate on such review and shall include in such report such recommendations as the Secretary deems appropriate.
