SEC. 248. ESTABLISHMENT OF DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY OFFICE IN JAPAN (a) In General.— The Secretary of Defense shall establish an office of the Department of Defense in Japan to investigate, evaluate, and facilitate opportunities for cooperation between the United States and Japan for the development of technologies of interest to the Department of Defense. (b) Deadline.— The Secretary of Defense shall establish such office no later than September 30, 1991.
