SEC. 103. LEASING AUTHORITY OF SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION. Section 4(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (15 U.S.C. 78d(b)) is amended— (1) by striking “(b)” and inserting the following: “(b) Appointment and Compensation of Staff and Leasing Authority.— “(1) Appointment and compensation.— and (2) by adding the end the following new paragraph: “(2) Leasing authority.— Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Commission is authorized to enter directly into leases for real property for office, meeting, storage, and such other space as is necessary to carry out its functions, and shall be exempt from any General Services Administration space management regulations or directives.”.
