Sec. 601. As used in this title— (a) “Secretary” means the Secretary of the respective department in which the Coast Guard is operating. (b) “Reserve” means the Coast Guard Reserve. (c) “Reserve officer” means an officer in the Coast Guard Reserve except those officers specifically excluded by subsection 602 (b) of this title.
