§ 3289. Commissioned officers; Medical Corps: original appointment; professional examination No person may be originally appointed as a first lieutenant in the Regular Army in the Medical Corps until he passes an examination of his professional fitness before an examining board composed of at least three officers of the Medical Corps designated by the Secretary of the Army.
