Reassignment: running mate advanced

§ 5660. Reassignment: running mate advanced If the running mate of a staff corps officer on active duty is advanced in numbers, or advanced in grade under section 5789 of this title, the staff corps officer shall have a new running mate assigned to him. The officer to be so assigned is the eligible line officer, not advanced, who was next senior to the former running mate before the advancement of such former running mate or, if there is none, the senior eligible line officer remaining in the grade.
