Sec. 510. Section 406 of the Act. of August 3, 1956 (70 Stat. 991, 1015), is amended to read as follows: “Sec. 406. (a) The Secretary of a military department may acquire any interest in land that— “(1) he or his designee determines is needed in the interest of national defense; and “(2) does not cost more than $25,000 (exclusive of administrative costs and the amounts of any deficiency judgments). This section does not authorize the acquisition, as part of the same project, of two or more contiguous parcels of land that together cost more than $25,000.”
