INTERSTATE COMMERCE COMMISSION Salaries and Expenses For necessary expenses of the Interstate Commerce Commission, including not to exceed $5,000 for the e plovment of special counsel; services as authorized by section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U.S.C. 55a), at rates for individuals not to exceed $100 per diem; and purchase of not to exceed fifty-seven passenger motor vehicles of which fifty-five shall be for replacement only; $22,606,000, of which not less than $1,753,700 shall be available for expenses necesary to carry out railroad safety activities and not less than $1,170,800 shall be available for expenses necessary to carry out locomotive inspection activities: Provided, That Joint Board members and cooperating State commissioners may use Government transportation requests when traveling in connection with their duties as such.
