SEC. 138. AMRAAM MISSILE PROGRAM.Section 163 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Years 1990 and 1991 (Public Law 101–189; 103 Stat. 1389) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: “(d) Alternative Removal of Funding Limitation.—The limitation on the obligation of funds for full-rate production of the AMRAAM system set forth in subsection (a) shall cease to apply upon the submission by the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation to the congressional defense committees of a report stating that, based upon the operational test and evaluation conducted on the AMRAAM system to the date of the report, it is the opinion of the Director that the results of such test and evaluation confirm that such system is effective and suitable for combat.”
