(a) Section 503(a) of the Social Security Act is amended by striking out “and” before clause (7) and by inserting before the period at the end thereof the following new clause: “; and (8) effective July 1, 1967, provide for payment of the reasonable cost (as determined in accordance with standards approved by the Secretary and included in the plan) of inpatient hospital services provided under the plan”. (b) Section 513(a) of such Act is amended by striking out “and” before clause (6) and by inserting before the period at the end thereof the following new clause: “; and (7) effective July 1, 1967, provide for payment of the reasonable cost (as determined in accordance with standards approved by the Secretary and included in the plan) of inpatient hospital services provided under the plan”.
