Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 2(a)(10) and (H)(1)), 402(a)(7), 1002(a)(8), 1402(a)(8), and 1602(a)(13) and (14) of the Social Security Act, a State may disregard, in determining need for aid or assistance under a State plan approved under title I, IV, X, XIV, or XVI of such Act, any amount paid to any individual under title II of such Act (or under the Railroad Retirement 79 Stat. 422Act of 1937 by reason of section 326(a) of this Act), for any one or more months which occur after December 1964 and before the third month following the month in which this Act is enacted, to the extent that such payment is attributable— (1) to the increase in monthly insurance benefits under the old-age, survivors, and disability insurance system resulting from the enactment of section 301 of this Act, or (2) to the payment of child’s insurance benefits under such system after attainment of age 18, in the case of individuals attending school, resulting from the enactment of section 306 of this Act.
