recall Sec. 517. (a) The caption of section 520 of such Act is amended to read “reaitointment and recall”. (b) Subsection (b) of section 520 of such Act is amended to read as follows: “(b) Whenever the Secretary determines it to be in the public interest, any retired officer or employee of the Service may be recalled for active duty on a temporary or limited basis to any appropriate class in his or her former category, except that a retired Foreign Service officer may not be recalled to a class higher than he or she held at the time of retirement unless appointed to the higher class by the President by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.”.
