Sec. 312. The Act of September 13, 1961 (75 Stat. 489), authorizing the establishment, of the Fort Smith National Historic Site, Arkansas, is amended as follows: (a) in section 1, after “adjoining” insert “or related” in the first sentence, and add the following after the second sentence: “The total area so designed for the purposes of this Act may not exceed seventy-five acres.”; (b) in section 2, change the colon at the end of the second sentence to a period and delete the remainder of the section (through the second proviso) ; and (c) revise section 4 to read as follows: “Sec. 4. There are hereby authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this Act, not to exceed, however, $1,719,000 for land acquisition and not to exceed $4,580,000 for the development of Fort. Smith National Historic Site undertaken after the effective date of this section.”.
