assistance for jordan Sec. 584. None of the funds appropriated or otherwise made available by this Act to carry out the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (including title IV of chapter 2 of part I, relating to the Overseas Private Investment Corporation) or the Arms Export Control Act may be used to provide assistance to Jordan unless the President determines and so certifies to the Congress that (1) Jordan has taken steps to advance the peace process in the Middle East, (2) Jordan is in compliance with United Nations Security Council sanctions against Iraq, and (3) that such assistance is in the national interest of the United States.
