SEC. 2853. REPORT ON CONTINUED MILITARY NEED FOR BELLOWS AIR FORCE STATION, HAWAII. (a) Report Required.— The Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Air Force, and the Secretary of the Navy shall jointly prepare a report evaluating the military necessity of maintaining Bellows Air Force Station on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii, as a military installation of the Department of Defense. (b) Communication Facility.— As part of the report, the Secretary of the Air Force shall describe one or more alternative locations under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense in the State of Hawaii that would be suitable for the communication operations currently conducted at Bellows Air Force Station and the cost of relocating such operations. (c) Marine Corps Training.— As part of the report, the Secretary of the Navy shall describe one or more alternative locations under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense in the State of Hawaii that would be suitable for the training activities of the Marine Corps periodically conducted at Bellows Air Force Station. (d) Submission of Reports.— The report required by this section shall be submitted to Congress not later than March 1, 1993.
