SEC. 2861. AUTHORITY TO GRANT EASEMENTS FOR RIGHTS-OF-WAY. (a) Easements for Electric Poles and Lines and for Communications Lines and Facilities.— Section 2668(a) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) by striking out “and” at the end of paragraph (9); (2) by redesignating paragraph (10) as paragraph (13); and (3) by inserting after paragraph (9) the following new paragraphs: “(10) poles and lines for the transmission or distribution of electric power; “(11) poles and lines for the transmission or distribution of communications signals (including telephone and telegraph signals); “(12) structures and facilities for the transmission, reception, and relay of such signals; and”. (b) Conforming Amendments.— Such section is further amended— (1) in paragraph (3), by striking out “, telephone lines, and telegraph lines,”; and (2) in paragraph (13), as redesignated by subsection (a)(2), by striking out “or by the Act of March 4, 1911 (43 U.S.C. 961)”.
