SEC. 407. COMMUNITY PROGRAMS ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. “(a) In General.— Section 318(h)(2) of the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (42 U.S.C. 10418(h)(2)) is amended by striking “fiscal year 1997” and inserting “for each of the fiscal years 1997 through 2002”. “(b) Study.— The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall request that the Institute of Medicine conduct a study concerning the training needs of health professionals with respect to the detection and referral of victims of family or acquaintance violence. Not later than 2 years after the date of enactment of this Act, the Institute of Medicine shall prepare and submit to Congress a report concerning the study conducted under this subsection.
