Sec. 344. It is the sense of the Senate that— (1) preserving Civil War battlefields should be an integral part of preserving our Nation’s history; and (2) Congress should give special priority to the preservation of Civil War battlefields by making funds available for the purchase of threatened and endangered Civil War battlefield sites.
