Sec. 345. It is the sense of the Senate that, inasmuch as there is disagreement as to what extent, if any, Federal funding for the arts is appropriate, and what modifications to the mechanism for such funding may be necessary; and further, inasmuch as there is a role for the private sector to supplement the Federal, State, and local partnership in support of the arts, hearings should be 111 STAT. 1605conducted and legislation addressing these issues should be brought before the full Senate for debate and passage during this Congress.
