LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN, LOUISIANA

SEC. 324. LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN, LOUISIANA The project for hurricane-flood protection, Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana, authorized by section 204 of the Flood Control Act of 1965 (79 Stat. 1077), is modified— (1) to direct the Secretary to conduct a study to determine the feasibility of constructing a pump adjacent to each of the 4 proposed drainage structures for the Saint Charles Parish feature of the project; and (2) to authorize the Secretary to construct the pumps, with a Federal cost of 65 percent, if the Secretary determines that the project as modified is technically sound, environmentally acceptable, and economically justified.
