SEC. 728. SENSE OF CONGRESS REGARDING AUTOMATIC ENROLLMENT OF MEDICARE-ELIGIBLE BENEFICIARIES IN THE TRICARE SENIOR PRIME DEMONSTRATION PROJECT. It is the sense of Congress that— (1) any person who is enrolled in a managed health care program of the Department of Defense at a location at which the medicare subvention demonstration project for military retirees conducted under section 1896 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395ggg) is implemented, and who attains eligibility for medicare, should be automatically authorized to enroll in such demonstration project; and (2) the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the other administering Secretaries described in section 1072(3) of title 10, United States Code, should modify existing policies and procedures for such demonstration project as necessary to permit such automatic enrollment.
