SEC. 4109. STATE OPTION TO REDUCE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS. Section 6(c)(1) of the Food Stamp Act of 1977 (7 U.S.C. 2015(c)(1)) is amended— (1) in subparagraph (B), by striking “on a monthly basis”; and (2) by adding at the end the following: “(D) Frequency of reporting.— “(i) In general.—Except as provided in subparagraphs (A) and (C), a State agency may require households that report on a periodic basis to submit reports— “(I) not less often than once each 6 months; but “(II) not more often than once each month. “(ii) Reporting by households with excess income.—A household required to report less often than once each 3 months shall, notwithstanding subparagraph (B), report in a manner prescribed by the Secretary if the income of the household for any month exceeds the income standard of eligibility established under section 5(c)(2).”.
