Sec. 2704. It is the sense of the Senate that—(1) the asset acquisition of Trans World Airlines by American Airlines was a positive action that should be commended;(2) although the acquisition was a positive action, the combination of the two airlines has resulted in a difficult seniority integration for the majority of the employee groups involved;(3) airline layoffs from American Airlines should be conducted in a manner that maintains the maximum level of fairness and equitable treatment for all parties involved; and(4) American Airlines should encourage its employee groups to integrate all employees in a manner that is fair and equitable for all parties involved.
