SEC. 1301. TEMPORARY PROGRAMS OF TRIAL WORK PERIODS AND VOCATIONAL-REHABILITATION EVALUATIONS. (a) Three-Year Extension.—Subsection (a)(2)(B) of section 363 is amended by striking out “January 31, 1989” and inserting in lieu thereof “January 31, 1992”. (b) Voluntary Participation.—Subsection (c) of such section is amended— (1) by striking out paragraphs (2), (3), and (4); (2) by striking out “(1)(A) Except as provided in paragraph (4) of this subsection, in” and inserting in lieu thereof “(1) In”; and (3) in paragraph (1)— (A) by redesignating clauses (i), (ii), and (iii) as clauses (A), (B), and (C), respectively; and (B) by striking out subparagraph (B) and inserting in lieu thereof the following: “(2) After providing the notice required under paragraph (1) of this subsection, the Administrator shall offer the veteran the opportunity for an evaluation under section 1506(a) of this title.”.
