purple heart commendationsSec. 1028. None of the funds in this Act or prior Acts may be used to revoke Purple Heart commendations awarded to members of the Armed Forces who have served in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom: Provided, That the Secretary of any military department may, on a case-by-case basis, waive this provision fifteen days after notifying the congressional defense committees of their intent to revoke an individual’s Purple Heart commendation.
