SEC. 2203. IMPROVEMENTS TO MILITARY FAMILY HOUSING UNITS (a) In General.—Subject to section 2825 of title 10, United States Code, the Secretary of the Army may improve, using amounts appropriated pursuant to section 2204(a)(5)(A), existing military family housing units in an amount not to exceed $145,968,000 of which $1,916,000 is available only for energy conservation projects. (b) Waiver of Maximum Per Unit Cost for Certain Improvement Projects.—Notwithstanding the maximum amount per unit for an improvement project under section 2825(b) of title 10, United States Code, the Secretary of the Army may carry out projects to improve existing military family housing units at the following installations in the number of units shown, and in the amount shown, for each installation: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, eight units, $550,000. Giessen, Germany, seventy-two units, $3,314,000. Various Locations (Germany), convert unused attic space and upgrade two hundred forty-two units into six hundred twenty-one adequate units, $44,026,000.
