SEC. 2334. LAND TRANSFERS: ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS, AND FORT SAM HOUSTON, TEXAS (a) Authority to Transfer.—Subject to subsections (b) through (d), the Secretary of the Army may transfer, without consideration, to the administrative jurisdiction of the Administrator of Veterans’ Affairs— (1) two parcels of real property, and improvements thereon, totaling approximately 17.17 acres, comprising a portion of the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Illinois; and (2) a parcel of real property, and improvements thereon, totaling approximately 8.5 acres, comprising a portion of Fort Sam Houston, Texas. (b) Conditions on Conveyance.—The Administrator shall— (1) use the real property described in subsection (a) for cemeteries which are to be part of the National Cemetery System; (2) transfer any portion of such property back to the administrative jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Army, if such portion is not used for such a cemetery; and (3) enter into an agreement with the Secretary to carry out the purposes of this section. (c) Legal Description and Surveys.—The exact acreage and legal description of the real property to be conveyed under subsection (a) shall be determined by surveys that are satisfactory to the Secretary. The cost of such surveys shall be borne by the Administrator. (d) Additional Terms and Conditions.—The Secretary may require such additional terms and conditions as the Secretary considers appropriate to protect the interests of the United States.
