SEC. 20024. ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS. Section 5334 of title 49, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subsection (a)(1), by striking “under sections 5307 and 5309-5311 of this title” and inserting “that receives Federal financial assistance under this chapter”; (2) in subsection (b)(1)— (A) by inserting after “emergency,” the following: “or for purposes of establishing and enforcing a program to improve the safety of public transportation systems in the United States as described in section 5329,”; and (B) by striking “chapter, nor may the Secretary” and inserting “chapter. The Secretary may not”; (3) in subsection (c)(4), by striking “section (except subsection (i)) and sections 5318(e), 5323(a)(2), 5325(a), 5325(b), and 5325(f)” and inserting “subsection”; (4) in subsection (h)(3), by striking “another” and inserting “any other”; (5) in subsection (i)(1), by striking “title 23 shall” and inserting “title 23 may”; (6) by striking subsection (j); and (7) by redesignating subsections (k) and (l) as subsections (j) and (k), respectively.
