KING INSURANCE AND SAFETY FIRE COMMISSIONER DATE: JANUARY 28, 2021 RE: EXTENSION OF DIRECTIVES RELATED TO SUSPENSION OF CERTAIN PREAUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENTS ______________________________________________________________________________ Due to the severity of the ongoing COVID-19 surge in Georgia, Commissioner King is extending Directives 20-EX-9 and 20-EX-11 for an additional 30 days from their current expiration date subject to further evaluation. Georgia’s hospitals are still experiencing extreme demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic and this temporary suspension of certain preauthorization requirements for post-acute placement is meant to help free up bed space and clinical staff to better support these patiets. _____________________________________________ JOHN F.
