HAYASHIDA INSURANCE COMMISSIONER MEMORANDUM 2020-5LIC June 3, 2020 TO: All Workers’ Compensation Adjuster Licensees Up for Renewal FROM: Colin M. Hayashida, Insurance Commissioner SUBJECT: License Examinations and License Status This Commissioner’s Memorandum extends and incorporates Commissioner’s Memorandum 2020-2LIC issued on March 19, 2020 regarding Workers’ Compensation Adjuster Licenses. While access to Pearson Vue testing centers remains limited due to temporary closures for the near future, the Commissioner is issuing Memorandum 2020-5LIC regarding status of Workers’ Compensation Adjuster licenses subject to renewal on or after June 16, 2020. Licenses that have a renewal date of June 16, 2020 or later will be extended past the renewal dates under the following provisions until examinations are made available. Licensees who are required to take and pass an examination for a June 16 renewal date or later, must pay fees timely by the license renewal date and submit a written declaration stating the following information: 1) the examination requirement has not been met due to unavailability of testing by Pearson Vue; 2) the licensee will take the examination within 45 days from the date that testing is made available; 3) the declaration is true and accurate to the best of their knowledge; 4) the licensee will inform the lnsurance Division that they passed the examination within a reasonable time of successfully passing the examination; and 5) the declaration is being submitted under penalty of perjury. The renewal fees may be submitted via the United States Postal Service (“USPS”) or other express service such as Federal Express or UPS. The receipt date of the document will be the USPS postmark stamp or stamp on the express service envelope, or the date the Division receives the document, whichever is earlier.
