The most current information on the shortage can be found on the FDA website. The supply of contrast media is expected to increase in the coming weeks, but the shortages could have significant impacts in the short-term. During this shortage, the Department encourages all health issuers to take proactive steps to mitigate the impact on insureds. Issuers should work with providers to identify and provide coverage for alternative treatment options when appropriate. Please see the American College of Radiology resource page on alternative treatment options. Questions regarding this Company Bulletin should be directed to DOI.InfoDesk@illinois.gov.
